Celebrating Social Prescribing Day — Powered by Community
Today we celebrate Social Prescribing Day, an annual celebration of social prescribing, recognising Social Prescribing Link Workers, local community groups and regional and national organisations which support people’s health and wellbeing.
Across our neighbourhoods in Poplar, Limehouse and the Isle of Dogs, social prescribing is helping people reconnect with activities, with support, and with each other. It shows that wellbeing grows through relationships, shared experiences, and communities coming together.
💛 Our community at the heart
To the residents who attend sessions, share their stories, support one another, and help shape local activities — thank you. Every conversation, every smile, and every small step forward contributes to stronger, healthier communities.
🌱 Celebrating our volunteers
Our community volunteers are the heartbeat of this work. Whether welcoming someone new, helping run activities, or creating safe and inclusive spaces, you make connection possible. Your generosity, lived experience, and commitment help turn ideas into action and support into belonging.
🤝 Stronger together
Through the Communities Keeping Well (CKW) and HIP Community and Volunteersprojects, partners across health, public health, and the voluntary sector who work side by side with residents to improve wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. Together, we are creating opportunities for people to move more, connect socially, build confidence, and take positive steps towards better health.

🌍 Thank you to our partners and colleagues
We also celebrate our dedicated colleagues and partners whose collaboration makes this work possible. By working together across services and communities, we are building a more compassionate, connected approach to health, one that recognises people as whole individuals, not just patients.
✨ Today is a celebration of connection, compassion, and community power.
Social prescribing works because of people — neighbours supporting neighbours, communities supporting wellbeing, and partnerships creating lasting change.
Here’s to everyone who makes this work happen, today and every day.
