What is Wellbeing Changemaker?
A Wellbeing Changemaker is a local resident who helps make their neighbourhood a healthier and more connected place. They listen to their neighbours, understand local needs, support and lead small projects that improve wellbeing for the community.

What do you offer?
We provide training and ongoing support for the duration of your volunteering with us.
5 essential training sessions – Every Thursday from 30th April, 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th May; 10am - 2pm
Monthly learn and share meetings with other changemakers
Regular supervision meetings with Community Engagement Officer
Ongoing training and development
Over 18 years old and live in Poplar, Limehouse East or the Isle of Dogs
A desire to help your community
Interest in listening to others and working with neighbours
Willingness to try new things and take action
Commitment to supporting local wellbeing
Can volunteer on average 5 hours
We especially welcome residents from all backgrounds, ages, and experiences
What does a Wellbeing Changemaker do?
Wellbeing Changemakers can be involved in different activities such as:
Conversations and community listening sessions to understand what matters most.
Co-design and lead small projects – turning community ideas into actions that improve health, social connection, or wellbeing
Support local initiatives – work with partners in the neighbourhood to promote and volunteer at community health and wellbeing events
Celebrate and share successes – showcase projects, gather feedback, and inspire others
Signpost their neighbours to wellbeing services locally
Examples of Wellbeing Changemakers in Action:
- Organising a weekly wellbeing walk for neighbours
- Supporting community health festivals or community roadshow events
- Listen and gather feedback from community members at event
